Howard Choder

Howard Choder
In 1982 I moved to Seattle (from Pittsburgh, PA) and fell into a job at the Internal Revenue Service quite by accident. I thought it was going to be a temporary stop but remained there for 15 years holding various positions in the Downtown Seattle office.

I discovered that tax law was a good match for me as it blends numbers with law. After 15 years, I had risen to the top of my profession and my only promotion available to me was going into management at the IRS. That’s when I left to start my own practice.

I initially started working out of my house and met clients in coffee houses around Seattle. My business continues to grow every year with many professional and client referrals.

In addition to providing Tax Accounting, IRS Problem Solving, and other general tax solutions, I have also added financial planning to my practice. I am currently in school obtaining my license to become a Certified Financial Planner.

When I’m not at the office, I love being with my family, playing ice hockey and helping with good causes such as the Blue Earth Alliance.

Matt Brown
Growing up in Kansas, Matt became fascinated with the idea that landscapes could have actual features, and set out to see what the rest of the world had to offer. Following college, his travels took him to Washington DC, where after a few years working in the accounting and finance department of a large national non-profit organization, he realized he had inadvertently developed some experience and skill in dealing with tax returns. He moved to Seattle this past fall, and is excited to join the Taxman team!

When not working Matt enjoys spending time outdoors, watching basketball (and playing, when his ankle is being agreeable), and reading.

Lucky the dog

Lucky

Originally from Cleveland Ohio, Lucky (St. Clair) worked exclusively in the profession of hunting and gathering, mostly in inner-city intersections of Cleveland. About ten years ago, a guardian appeared (my wife) and asked Lucky to retire her dangerous profession and come live with her.

Lucky tired of being a stay at home companion animal, decided to support me in my growing business. She greets new clients, gives staff lots of support and kisses and is a quiet coworker—napping most of the day! She’s proved to be a huge asset.

*In addition to these wonderful attributes, she works well with others and has never bit an IRS worker (yet).
