Zane hails from sunny New Mexico, where he lived for the last 10 years. Graduating from New Mexico State University with a BA in Government in 2010, and a Master of Public Administration in 2012, he originally aspired to join the State Department as a foreign service officer. He ultimately found a home in public accounting preparing returns for individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations.

Zane became an Enrolled Agent in 2021 just after moving to Seattle. He has many hobbies outside the office including – traveling, attending local sporting events (Go Sounders!), hiking, and camping.
